Compositions – Class Syllabus
- English Country Garden
- This is a design style that looks a little bit more wild. The end result should look more like a garden. I sometimes call it wild child. Best materials to use are lighter and more than 5 different kinds.
- Facing design 180
- These designs are typically placed in front of walls. You do not see the back side. This is one of the most common design styles you will see. This class we are looking at the “standard” version.
- Mass and Line
- Mass botanicals tend to be things like hydrangea or other flowers that tend to have a lot of smaller flowers. Grouping a large amount of material that is the same, creates a mass. To offset it we will add a simple line.
- Vertical
- This arrangement is emphasizing the vertical plane. Tall straight lines.
- Horizontal
- Rather than height we are looking at emphasizing the horizontal plane. Lines that don’t reach up.
- Modern – you will want to bring your own vases for this one. Bring 3.
- Less is more. If I can get Tropicals they work well with modern designs. Otherwise we will make several minimal designs.
- Leaves Only
- See the beauty in the leaves all around us.
- On your own.
- Everyone will buy /bring some sort of material. We will all pick and choose from the materials people bring to make our own unique arrangements.
